Inside Text: From the Vine... White wines are either made from white grapes ("white" grapes are basically all grape types which are not dark red or bluish) or from the juice of red grapes, not the skins. Skins are removed from the grapes by either pressing large quantities of grapes so the juice flows out and the skins stay behind, or crushing the grapes by putting them through a machine with a huge screw that breaks the skins, and then draining the juice away from the skins.
