Inside Text: From the Vine... Visually, you can tell the difference between a German Rhein and a Mosel wine by looking at the bottle. Rhein wine comes in a brown bottle, Mosel in a green bottle. By taste, Rhein wines generally have more body while Mosels are usually higher in acidity and lower in alcohol. Mosels show more autumn fruits like apples, pears and quince, while Rhein wines show more summer fruits like apricots, peaches and nectarines.
