Inside Text: From the Vine... Take special care when opening Champagne or Sparkling wines. Chill the wine well beforehand, as this helps control the effervescence. Avoid shaking the bottle. After removing the foil to reveal the wire cage, place one thumb over the top of the cork and release the cage. While turning the bottle slowly, simultaneously twist the cork in the opposite direction. The cork should remove easily. Briefly hold the bottle at a 45-degree angle to avoid frothing.
